Ministries

Worship - Sundays at: 8:45 am and 10:45 am

8:45 Service - A traditional liturgical Lutheran service using the Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal (ELW).  Each week we celebrate Holy Communion (excepting the fifth Sunday of a month which is a service of prayers for healing.)

10:45 Service - A non-traditional liturgical Lutheran service using spoken liturgy and a variety of music.  Each week we celebrate Holy Communion (excepting the fifth Sunday of a month which is a service of prayers for healing.)

Summer Worship - Sundays between Memorial day and Labor day.

9:00 Service - A traditional liturgical Lutheran service using the Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal (ELW).  Each week we celebrate Holy Communion (excepting the fifth Sunday of a month which is a service of prayers for healing.)

10:30 Service - A non-traditional outdoor drive-in service in the church parking lot.  The worship leaders are on a stage and the congregation is: their cars, sitting in lawn chairs, or on blankets on the grass.  The worshiper can tune into the service on their radio, ala a drive-in theater, or listen from the speakers that are arrayed on the stage.  It is a unique service!

Christian Education

Sunday School - 9:45 am (during the school year.)

Our Sunday School ministry is for children pre-k through 6th grade.

It begins with an opening in which all of the children sing, pray and hear the Bible story.  Then each grade group adjourns to their classroom, to learn, discuss and craft about the Bible story.

Confirmation - Wednesdays at 6:30 pm (during the school year.)

Our confirmation ministry is for youth in grades 7, 8 and 9.  Youth affirm their faith in the service of confirmation on Reformation Sunday in the fall of their 10th grade year.

In the course of the three years the youth study the Old and New Testaments and Luther's Small Catechism, as well as taking worship notes, serving as an acolyte during service and performing volunteer service in the community.

Vacation Bible School - Day Camp

Each summer United in Christ holds a week of Vacation Bible School (VBS) in a day camp format.  Young adult counselors from Voyageurs Lutheran Ministry camps come and lead the children in four and half days of fun and meaningful learning and growth through games, singing, skits, stories, crafts and Bible study. The dates for 2017 are June 26 -30 for children ages K through 6th grade.

Adult Studies

Sunday Study - 10:00 am in the Sanctuary.

Most weeks we either: study from the Bible, learn about a person or issue critical to our faith, hear of a fellow disciples work or travels, or discuss events relevant to our Christian faith.

Wednesday Bible Study - 11:30 am (during the school year.)

Each week we study the Biblical texts for the following Sunday's worship or a specific book in the Bible.
